Shatterock Technologies was founded in 1999 to give something back to the Internet developer and user community in the form of free software. We strive to create useful applications that can help you find your way out of a tough situation, or enhance your computing experience.
- Etymology

The name 'shatterock' is a combination of two words, 'shatter' and 'rock'. While that may seem obvious, the meaning does have significance. The 'rock' represents a problem of some kind, examples being a lost password, or a piece of unobtainable data, and so on. We desire to 'shatter' each 'rock', not just bypass it, or move it aside. For this reason, all of our software at this point is free to use by anyone.
